Did the winner play a blinder? Or could it be that the trusting players just play really – that is to say mind-blowing badly? Debates will flourish through digital feeds endlessly, in any case the successful contestant of the first – and likely not the final – edition of The Celebrity Traitors is the deceptive Alan Carr.
Initially selected by the host, viewers assumed he wouldn’t last a single hour. Nor did he. “I feel sick. I suffer from a sweating problem and can’t keep a secret.” Moreover, he is incapable of murmur or remember if he obtained a shield.
Yet, in the company, by among the most foolish participants of the game since records began, he managed to succeed, having grown into the role with alarming simplicity. He wrapped up with a theatrical gesture, bursting into semi-crocodile tears about how challenging it had been for him to carry the lethal responsibility.
The last two faithfuls, rushed to comfort him (“It’s been tearing me apart!”). At home, many envisioned heavenward looks and shouts.
The Last Confrontation
In the beginning of the concluding installment, there had been five remaining contestants of the initial nineteen. Subsequent to one ultimate group mission, featuring a railway engine, a cash sum in secure containers, keys and clues scattered across the wagons, and two linked sarcophagi (“I stepped up a bit there,” remarks one participant of the unwrapping. “Since I was willing to lose a finger”), they gathered for their last round table.
Two contestants made their selections for a different contestant, despite the academic’s notable history of logically guiding himself to every erroneous outcome conceivable. I stay convinced in my opinion that the individual would have made the planet’s best betrayer, but as a loyalist he was catastrophic.
He did manage to vote for a different player at the meeting, however, and she was rightfully expelled in the end.
Emotion and Resolution
With four left. It is difficult to recount to write about what occurred afterward. A particular player … had a moment. An instance when he suspected his closest ally. A standout friendships of our or any age, between the biggest personality and the most diminutive character on TV, the rugby player and the problem-solver, reeled under the shock as the hesitant one displayed his final slate to unveil his best buddy’s name.
The voted-out player stood firm – he is not built for it – but had he been able, he could have. “Yet I care for you,” the friend said, despairingly.
The removed participant left, the remaining two thought they were safe and after some business involving tossing bags into a inferno, the trio chose to finish the game.
Being the only remaining deceiver, Alan was announced as the victor and took the complete cash sum for the youth oncology foundation. Yet, the key aspect is that when the emcee guided the group to a meeting on the manor entrance, amends was swift.
Farewell to the Cast
I will, in company with the over thirteen million other spectators, long for each one. (Except for two contestants who lacked the occasion to make an impact, and a different who never apologised for botching a certain mission.)
I will long for the profound rage of a certain contestant, the dramatic grief of a different one, the utter inability of another participant to interpret events without self-reference.
I will yearn for one participant’s distrust of complex vocabulary, another duo’s wit, an artist’s sheer presence, a star as the distillation of everything that endures as virtuous in this imperfect reality, an experienced presenter as television’s last remaining showman, a gentle participant and the persistent paternal warmth of a beloved figure, in addition to all the finalists themselves.
Most importantly I will pine for the grace and elegance of an individual participant, so supremely noble even when screaming down a well or breaking wind in a cabin. As the individual below the emcee’s tresses emphasized on multiple times, you were, mostly, inept in the competition. However, you served as wonderful, exceptional diversion.
