A charity drive is aiming to launch a traditional song from Palestine to the peak of the festive singles chart. The effort seeks to send support to Gaza's residents while also spotlighting Palestinian culture and creativity.

A Chance for Support and an "Chart Upset"

Composer and producer Brian Eno, who performs on the track, stated that the release called 'Lullaby' represents a chance to show solidarity with Palestinians over the Christmas period. He acknowledged the potential for an unlikely festive coup.

“That would be amazing if that happened, yes,” he stated. “I’m not gonna be completely disheartened if it fails to, holiday tracks are a category of their own.”

Defiant Message of Freedom and Dignity

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who features in the reimagining of a cultural piece called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the piece's resilient spirit.

“The song holds a deeply meaningful spot for many individuals,” Barghouti shared. “The essence is that I would choose to perish with honor than live a life without freedom. That’s the main theme of the song; we seek to lead a respectful existence that we merit as a people.”

Production History and Contributing Musicians

The song was recorded after a solidarity show held in the autumn. First conceived to be done as a live recording, the performance was omitted from the lengthy event due to the event running long.

The notable list of performers appearing on Lullaby includes a selection of prominent voices from the industry. All were part of the earlier concert, which reportedly raised a considerable total for relief efforts.

Final Touches and Availability

Lullaby was crafted by a trio of talented individuals. The single features a mix of the heritage language with freshly written English words.

The organizers behind the initiative have emphasized that their goal is to collect the highest amount for a dedicated fund. These proceeds will be allocated to Palestinian causes through an partnering humanitarian organization.

“We haven't set a specific target,” a figure explained. “We aim for whatever we can get. Obviously, the greater the amount, the better. All proceeds are directed out to the people of Gaza.”

The situation in the territory was noted for its profound destruction, with a vast majority of buildings described as levelled or seriously harmed.

“Given that reality, a couple of million won't make an enormous impact. But I think what truly matters is above all making this cause better known and showing the human dimension of the story.”

The single 'Lullaby' is set to be released at the end of the week. Additionally, a full recording of the solidarity show will be made ready to watch on a major video platform from later in the month.
