Esteemed Star The actor Pat Finn, Recognized For Roles in Friends and The Middle, Dies at the Age of Sixty.
Stateside performer Finn, who appeared in beloved television series such as Friends, Seinfeld and "The Middle", has succumbed at the age of 60.
The comedy and improvisation performer succumbed at his home in LA on Monday after undergoing treatment for a cancer diagnosis since 2022, according to news outlets.
"Pat considered no one a stranger - solely future friends he hadn't encountered," his relatives shared in a announcement.
They added that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with happiness and energy".
An Extensive TV Career
Finn's first television role was on the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he played the lead character's sibling.
He subsequently landed a regular part on Murphy Brown between 1995 and 1997.
He starred as Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in 1998, depicting a party host known to delegate tedious tasks to his guests.
In the 90s and 2000s, he had guest spots on a variety of hit series, such as:
- The King of Queens
- Friends
- "That '70s Show"
- House
His most famous role for portraying the character Bill Norwood in "The Middle", appearing throughout eight series between 2011 and 2018.
His work in movies encompass "It's Complicated" and "Santa Paws 2".
Beyond the Screen
Outside of his television work, Finn was a skilled improviser and also taught at the Colorado university, where he was a professor.
He was a member of a six-person improv troupe called Beer Shark Mice.
"Pat coached, befriended and mentored countless students during his career and it would be difficult to find a person anywhere who has an unkind word to say about him," his family wrote.
Offering condolences, fellow actor Richard Kind remarked there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, grounded individual you could encounter".
"Always positive, making those around him better and funnier. A great dad, a great guy," he posted publicly.
The actor is remembered by his spouse Donna, his children, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
