Devoted followers of Ariana Grande are demanding that a person who breached a fence and seized the celebrity during the recent Wicked: For Good premiere be taken into custody or expelled from Singapore.

A viral video depicts the person identified as Johnson Wen shoving aside camera operators and rushing toward Grande while the cast made its way down a promenade accompanied by fans.

Fellow actress Cynthia Erivo quickly pulled the surprised performer away from Mr Wen, who was seen being escorted out of the premiere by event staff.

Mr Wen shared on Instagram Thursday evening that he was "released after being detained", though legal records indicated that he was due to be present on Friday morning. It is unknown if he was charged.

Record of Event Invasions

This is not the first time for Mr Wen, who describes himself as a "Troll Most Hated", has invaded a celebrity gathering. His Instagram profile features recordings of him disturbing other star-studded functions, including breaching the performance area at the artist's Sydney show in earlier this year and in a like fashion during The Chainsmokers concert in the area last year.

"Measures must be taken taken against him as this is obviously a legal violation," commented an Instagram follower, in a message to a video Mr Wen shared of his act.

"Oh wow so you do this a lot... how aren't you in jail?" one Instagram user wrote.

Fans Show Disapproval Over Grande's Safety

Several followers blamed Mr Wen for "triggering past anxiety" Grande, who had discussed dealing with trauma-related anxiety after a suicide bomb attack at the finale of her May 2017 performance in Manchester, killing 22 people and injuring many.

"Ariana has been through so many scary things... and at her Manchester concert and you thought it would be fun to jump the barricade?" commented another response on Instagram.

Some attendees also questioned event staff at the Thursday event for not being adequately prepared; while different individuals demanded digital services to block Mr Wen's content.

Reaction and Premiere Information

In footage shared widely, Grande looked startled when she was grabbed by the man. Her cast members Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be spotted consoling her while Mr Wen was led out by staff.

Grande has not issued a statement on the incident, and the remaining proceedings carried on uninterrupted.

Numerous of attendees had congregated in a sea of emerald and rose at the Wicked: For Good regional premiere in a Singapore shopping center, including some who had waited for as long as a significant duration before it commenced.

The movie, to be released on November 21, is the second of a two-part interpretation of the well-known theatrical musical Wicked, which centers on the surprising relationship between two contrasting witches.

The show itself is a adaptation of the 1900 book The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who plays the benevolent sorceress Glinda, was dressed in a champagne pink sparkling outfit at the event while Erivo, who plays the villainous character, wore a sleek black dress featuring roses.

They were alongside fellow actor Jeff Goldblum.

The first movie, Wicked, was the top-earning movie of 2024 in the UK, and earned 10 Academy Award nods, securing a pair for best costume and set decoration.
