LA Erupts in Celebration as Los Angeles Dodgers Claim Second World Series Championship
The City of Angels experienced widespread celebrations after the Los Angeles Dodgers clinched a nail-biting seven-game World Series title. Supporters worldwide joined local residents in jubilation, marking the first time in a quarter-century that a franchise has secured back-to-back championships.
Victory Parade Draws Enormous Turnout
Los Angeles area celebrations featured a procession through the city center on the morning of the parade, a reserved-seating event at the team's home stadium, and spontaneous parties across the city.
Social media videos show countless of Angelenos packing city center avenues, many carrying homemade signs and Dodger flags. The team was seen riding high on a double-decker bus through the crowds, raising the Commissioner’s trophy high.
“My focus is already about the next championship we’re going to do this,” the star player remarked through an translator.
The parade route concluded at the stadium, where the team emerged to Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us,” with DJ Mustard spinning music and the artist driving a light blue classic car around the stadium’s outfield.
Early Celebrations and Athlete Responses
Festivities began prior to the procession, with Dodgers fans lighting flares in the streets of Downtown Los Angeles on Sunday night.
The World Series MVP, awarded the World Series’ Most Valuable Player, commented directly about the win.

Mixed Reactions and City Unity
In contrast, the team owner was met with a less warm welcome at the celebration. Video footage from the gathering appear to show him walking onstage to a combination of cheers and boos, with jeers punctuating his address.
The World Series acted as a positive moment in what has been a trying year for Los Angeles. An approximate quarter-million people attended to the Dodgers’ victory parade last year, and according to team member Freddie Freeman, fans this year showed equal or greater support.
“I feel like it’s almost double from last year,” Freeman remarked. “The supporters are incredible. It’s so awesome to be a part of this.”
