In a commanding performance, the English national team secured another victory versus Albania, with a number of players turning in memorable performances on the pitch.

Starting XI

The goalkeeper Had little to do to perform during the opening 45 until tested by an opponent's bent shot. His sliding intervention on an Albanian attacker demonstrated his game intelligence. 6/10

The debutant Examined against the opposition's primary attacker through their forward. Operated through the middle early on later drifted wider once a teammate was introduced. 7

John Stones Pushed forward with the ball at his feet, something he's known for before. Sometimes was too casual when carrying play with the tactic abandoned by the interval. 6

Dan Burn A nuisance at set pieces, per usual, could serve as a replacement to his teammate at the back as opposed to his partner. A careless distribution later in the match nearly resulted in the first goal for Albania. 6

The young full-back Another confident display from the 20-year-old following his debut versus Serbia. A teammate was unable to take full advantage of a clever flick over the Albania defence. His position is firmly his so soon. Seven

Adam Wharton His first start for his country. Slightly loose when playing out though his whipped deliveries caused problems. An effective tempo-setter for the manager to utilize versus teams who drop deep. Shown a yellow after a reckless tackle. 6

Declan Rice Crosses on corner kicks and free-kicks caused problems. Enjoyed freedom to move in left midfield but was offside when the ball arrived with a chance to score. Awarded a deserved break on the hour mark. 6

Jude Bellingham Functioned in an advanced position on the right while also did plenty of the hard yards. Showed glimpses of brilliance and mishit an attempt high. Substituted in the closing stages for a teammate, his rival, after being booked. 7/10

Jarrod Bowen Had England’s best chance in the opening period, his shot well saved from the opposing goalkeeper. With a teammate hanging back, he had to provide width on the right yet his deliveries into the box varied in quality. Replaced for the final quarter-hour. 6/10

Harry Kane The decisive figure with his seventy-seventh and seventy-eighth finishes in an England shirt. His first a classic opportunist's goal and his next an excellent headed goal having drifted away off his defender. Aged 32, he’s only getting better and England are strong contenders next summer with him up top. 8

The attacker Struggled to make an impact from the left. Had a decent opportunity when set up from a teammate yet the keeper kept it out. His replacement produced a bigger influence when substituted. Five
