NFL 2025 season: Week six

Live coverage features live text for Sunday's games via various channels, beginning with the Broncos-Jets clash at Tottenham (kicking off at 2 PM BST). Also, audio coverage can be heard through designated networks for a separate game (beginning at 9 PM BST).

We're in the sixth week in the NFL season and following recent talk regarding the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles being a potential Super Bowl match-up, they both surrendered their unbeaten records.

Striking in those games were the number of penalties each conceded. Philadelphia committed them in key moments so they essentially beat themselves after leading by two touchdowns entering the fourth period versus the Denver Broncos, set to play overseas this weekend.

However it proved good to see that Denver's QB the rookie managed to overcome the shortfall and then direct three successful possessions in three attempts during the final period, to win the game by four points.

Denver boast the top defender in CB their star corner. They are number one in goal-line defense, whereas Philadelphia are number one in red zone offence, and the Broncos won that contest.

They executed the Eagles' number regarding simulated pressure. They did not necessarily sending extra defenders but they might plug two LBs in the 'A' gap before drop them out and send a nickel from the outside.

Early on in the campaign, it was noted on a program that the Broncos could be this season's surprise contenders. They ended last season strongly and excelled in continuing that momentum.

Could Denver be this season's dark horses?

New tight end their tight end has excelled significantly while recent running back their rusher is a guy they believe in. He now ranks fifth league-wide for rushing yards (402) as well as tied-fourth in rushing scores (4).

It's impressive how the coach the Broncos' leader has "RUN IT!" prominently on his call sheet.

That shows how the Broncos are a team that wants to run first, because one can achieve much off the back of that. It reduces down the pass rush and keeps you in positive situations.

This has helped QB Bo Nix, who came the NFL as the 12th overall draft pick in the prior draft, throwing 29 TDs – second only to a star QB for the rookie record (31 in 2020).

Josh Allen and Herbert have the arm strength to pass all over, but they lack the mobility that Nix has. He has incredible arm talent, a unique trait, and he's so athletic.

His assets are his mobility, the capacity to throw on the run, as well as using different arm angles to make throws as he moves out of the pocket, on rollouts. He can deliver precision throws over the middle and past defenders.

For a young quarterback, aged 25, he displays a lot of poise in the pocket and is not really fazed by extra rushers. He aims to evade being tackled whenever possible and can throw in tight spots. He has a high football IQ and remains very decisive.

If you constantly rush it eats up the clock and makes the defence to be on the field for longer, and if you have an athletic quarterback the defense has to defend the field vertically and horizontally. It can be exhausting.

Nix has bitten back with the coach during games at times and it seems the coach appreciates that fire, seeing him as such a competitor. In my view it's fun for the coach to coach a young quarterback that is similar to play-dough. He can really build something up the way he desires to build it. I believe it's a special experience for him.

The head coach owns a championship and now passed a legend for career NFL wins (173 - tied 14th overall). He has witnessed everything. In my opinion the success Denver are experiencing offensively is largely due to his leadership, his schemes, his situational awareness – and the combination with the QB helps make him what he is.

You wouldn't want a more qualified person guiding you, to assist you during difficult moments and build self-belief.

I have faith in the Broncos' defense, in Bo Nix's tenacity and composure. Yet is the team strong enough to go against a top squad at its best? Because that was not a Super Bowl performance by the Eagles in their last game.

Right now, it's unlikely Denver are elite. They're working better than most, which is a solid position to be in their division. All they need is is maintain this path.

They excel at embracing their strength, which is running the ball, and this is precisely what they must do against the Jets at Tottenham. It's going to be the JK Dobbins show, in essence.

The Jets have allowed 140 rushing yards per game (sixth worst), five rushing touchdowns this season (in the bottom ten), and they're the sole squad without a win any game.

Since the NFL started recording takeaways in 1933, this team are the first team to go without any turnovers through five games, which is surprising when you think that the head coach was previously defensive co-ordinator with another team.

Patrick Mahomes stated the Chiefs have 'already lost too many games' after a recent loss to Jacksonville.

Following this Sunday's game, the Broncos have a manageable slate up to their break (in week 12) - the Giants, the Cowboys, Houston Texans and the Raiders before the Kansas City Chiefs.

Looking at the AFC West, Kansas City are 2-3 and the Broncos are tied with the Chargers on 3-2 so they could challenge for the top of the division.

This hinges upon which form of the Chiefs they face because Denver {beat|def
