White House Denounces 'Democrat Hoax' as Further Jeffrey Epstein Photographs Released
Democratic lawmakers have published a new tranche of what they described as "disturbing" pictures from the property of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, including notably Donald Trump, Bill Clinton, and former British royal Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.
The first release of 19 photographs—a portion of which have been seen before—plus another 70 unveiled later on Friday represent a small number of the approximately 100,000 images handed over to the House investigative panel, which is probing the behavior and associations of Epstein.
The shamed investor died by apparent suicide in a New York detention cell in 2019 after being indicted on sex-trafficking charges.
Notable Figures in the Photos
Included in the notable figures shown in the initial batch are public figures such as movie maker Woody Allen; Microsoft creator Bill Gates; and Richard Branson, originator of the Virgin business group.
Donald Trump is featured in three of the first nineteen images. In one, he is pictured with six women, whose faces are blacked out.
Administration Response
The White House reacted to the release in a official comment, accusing Democrats of selectively "cherry-picking" the photographs for electoral motives and to "seek to establish a false storyline."
"That partisan falsehood against President Trump has been time and again refuted," a presidential representative said, asserting that "this presidency has done more for Epstein's survivors than Democrats have at any point by consistently demanding openness, making public thousands of pages of documents, and demanding more inquiries into Epstein's Democratic associates."
Congressional Democrat Comment
The images were disclosed devoid of explanation, but per a Democratic representative from California and senior member of the oversight committee, they elicit additional doubts about Epstein's associations with wealthy individuals.
"It is time to stop this White House concealment and secure justice to the victims of Jeffrey Epstein and his influential associates," he said in a statement.
The disclosure of these documents occurs alongside the oversight committee proceeding with its inquiry into the affair.
